本日、ビットコインネットワーク上でSegWitが有効化されることに伴い、BitGoではすべてのBitGoウォレットへのSegWit導入を開始することをお知らせいたします。まずは、選定された数社の顧客を対象に即時導入を行い、本番環境での運用状況を観察する予定です。数日間、想定通りに動作することを確認できた場合、SDKの最終版をリリースし、すべてのBitGoウォレットへのSegWit導入を開始いたします。
BitGo Web Walletをご利用のお客様は、SegWitが自動的に有効化されるため、特に何もする必要はありません。
BitGo APIをご利用のお客様は、SegWit対応の最終版がリリースされ次第、お使いのBitGoJS、BitGoD、およびBitGo Expressをアップグレードすることで、いつでもSegWitを有効化できます。
BitGoユーザーにとって、SegWitには2つの直接的なメリットがあります：

BitGoのマルチシグ取引の手数料は、SegWit導入前と比べて約半額になります。

SegWitを有効にすることで、ブロックチェーン上の取引の負荷を軽減し、他の取引のためのスペースを確保することで、ビットコインのスケーラビリティ向上に貢献できます。
なお、取引相手はソフトウェアのアップグレードを行う必要はありません。なぜなら、誰でもSegWitアドレスへの送金や、SegWit資金からの送金を受け取ることができるからです。
