Key Takeaways:
-
STS Digital is live on Go Network, enabling off-exchange settlement for institutional derivatives and spot trading.
-
Clients can access advanced trading strategies while assets are secure in regulated custody at BitGo Bank and Trust, National Association (N.A.), a federally chartered digital asset bank trust.
-
Clients gain seamless access to STS Digital alongside BitGo’s broader ecosystem, including electronic and OTC trading, financing, and staking
STS Digital has joined Go Network as an Off-Exchange Settlement (OES) partner, marking an expansion of the network of partners to a principal derivatives dealer. Through this integration, institutional clients can trade STS Digital’s full suite of products, including vanilla and exotic options, spot and structured products across 400+ tokens, without moving assets out of BitGo regulated custody.
Why This Matters
By combining STS Digital’s liquidity with Go Network’s OES model, clients can operate in a structure more aligned with traditional finance with the benefits of:
-
Reduced counterparty risk: assets remain segregated in custody, not exposed to trading venues
-
Improved capital efficiency: minimize prefunding requirements unlock capital that would otherwise be tied up on exchanges
-
Simplified operations: eliminate asset movement between custody and trading venues with balances mirrored from BitGo to STS Digital
-
Scalable infrastructure: expand trading activity without adding operational complexity
“Go Network was built to give institutions a better market structure by separating custody from execution,” said Adam Sporn, Head of Prime Brokerage and Institutional Sales at BitGo. “By integrating STS Digital as an exchange partner, we’re extending that model beyond exchanges and into principal dealer liquidity, removing a barrier to institutional adoption while unlocking far greater capital efficiency.”
“Off-exchange settlement has transformed how institutions access exchange liquidity. This partnership takes that model a step further — for the first time, clients can trade complex derivatives strategies with a principal dealer while their assets remain fully protected in custody,” said Maxime Seiler, CEO of STS Digital. “It opens up a class of products and services that OES hasn’t connected clients to before.”
How It Works
Through Go Network OES, clients execute trades with STS Digital while keeping assets in regulated, qualified custody at BitGo Bank and Trust, N.A., insured up to $250M. Assets and balances are mirrored to STS Digital for trading but remain with BitGo until time of settlement. Post-trade settlement is automated through Go Network’s infrastructure and also occurs within regulated custody.
Throughout the trading lifecycle, institutions retain full control, visibility, and access to their assets, establishing a foundation for how institutions can access liquidity, deploy capital, and manage risk with BitGo’s platform.
A More Connected Platform
Beyond Go Network partners, BitGo also offers clients access to liquidity through its electronic and OTC trading, aggregating liquidity from global liquidity providers, market makers, and exchanges to deliver competitive pricing and tighter spreads.
BitGo also enables clients to borrow and lend assets, with the flexibility to deploy capital both on and off platform. By combining OES services with trading and financing services, BitGo delivers a more integrated and capital-efficient model for institutional participation in digital assets.
