In the first months of 2019, BitGo has made two important advances providing evidence of our commitment to being the leading digital asset financial services firm. In January, we secured the most comprehensive insurance policy for digital assets covering $100 million in losses for funds held in cold storage, a set of corporate insurance policies including D&O, E&O, and Cyber Theft, and optional hot wallet insurance. Now this week, we have announced the completion of our SOC 2 Type 2 certification, only eight months after we earned SOC 2 Type 1 certification. These attestations are important to the industry and speak to how the industry is maturing to provide many of the business validations seen in traditional finance.
Under the direction of Chief Security Officer, Tom Pageler, the BitGo security team is continually working to raise the bar on digital asset security by both establishing and following best practices that keep our clients’ assets safe.
“Many of our institutional clients request access to our insurance and SOC 2 certifications and we are happy to provide these as a testament to our commitment to providing the best in service,” said Pageler.
