While the digital asset market offers promising investment opportunities, it also differs from traditional asset classes in many ways, potentially exposing investors to unwanted risks.

BitGo’s Trading solution addresses these risks and allows investors to access deep liquidity, remain capital efficient, and achieve anonymous, best price execution — all with their funds secured by a regulated, insured custodian.

Managing Safety and Security of Assets

Unlike many traditional asset classes, crypto is a bearer asset of a purely digital nature — which makes their safety and security paramount for protecting your investment.

BitGo helps solve this in two ways. First, we provide our clients the ability to trade directly from cold storage, meaning they can access liquidity without actually exposing their funds to the risk of being hacked. Trading from cold storage isn’t possible at most venues.

Second, all BitGo wallets and accounts are protected by our industry-leading security. As one of the industry’s oldest and largest players, BitGo pioneered the most secure technology in the space, serves over 700 institutions worldwide, and has safely processed trillions in transactions.

Best Price Execution

Because the crypto market is fragmented and lacks a national best bid and offer price, investors struggle to pinpoint the best price at any given time. For most, the only way to truly execute efficiently is to go through a time- and capital-intensive process of connecting and holding assets with a series of counterparties.

BitGo delivers better execution with greater efficiency. We serve as our clients’ sole counterparty, while sitting as the intermediary between a number of top exchanges and market makers. This allows us to aggregate liquidity and therefore source a superior price for a given trade.

By working directly with BitGo, clients also get to operate in a more capitally efficient manner. Rather than needing to maintain funds at a number of different venues at once, they can simply hold assets with BitGo, and we will route orders to the liquidity providers offering the best price.

Eliminating Counterparty Risk

Beyond capital inefficiency, smearing funds across multiple venues also exposes investors to the risk of each and every counterparty — both in terms of security and in terms of potential conflicts of interest.

Between our cold storage trading solution and our “riskless principal” model, BitGo eliminates each of these. BitGo does not operate its own exchange and does not engage in any proprietary trading. Rather, all execution is on behalf of our clients. That eliminates the possibility of a counterparty engaging in front-running or moving the market against you.

Multiple ways to trade

Clients can trade both via our point-and-click user interface or programmatically via our APIs. The latter is particularly useful for retail aggregators who use BitGo to execute trades on behalf of their own end-users.

Who We Serve

BitGo serves a wide variety of clients, consisting of both software platforms and traditional financial institutions.

Platforms — retail aggregators and beyond — leverage BitGo to power the infrastructure for their business, sourcing liquidity via BitGo Trading and securing both their and their customers’ funds via our wallets.

Funds, family offices, and high-net worth individuals, likewise, rely on BitGo to hold funds securely and then put them to work, via trading and our other services, like borrowing, lending, staking, and DeFi access.
